Grammy Award nominee and ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã alumnus Jamison Ross will kick off the spring 2018 season of the acclaimed Jazz at the Sandbar concert series when he performs Wednesday, March 7 at 7 p.m. at The Cove on ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã's campus. The series, established by emeritus faculty member Ellis Marsalis in 1990, pairs seasoned professional musicians with ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã jazz students on the bandstand in a music club environment.
Admission is free to the ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã community (with ID), with a $5 suggested donation for the general public.

Jazz at the Sandbar is presented each Wednesday night for eight weeks during the fall and spring semesters and features a different respected jazz artist each week. All members of the ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã community are welcome to attend for free. For all others, a donation of $5 is suggestion. The Sandbar is located inside the The Cove building on the western edge of the ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã campus and offers a convivial atmosphere, food and libations.
Jazz at the Sandbar is presented by the ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã School of the Artswith support from Nate and Priscilla Gordon, the ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã Student Government Association, OffBeat Media, WWNO FM, The New Orleans Theatre Association, The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation and the New Orleans Jazz Celebration. All admission proceeds go to the George Brumat Memorial Scholarship Fund.
