After a season of virtual performances, the ż theatre department has taken its spring show to the great outdoors—literally.
The on-campus amphitheatre has been transformed for the live performance of the play “Eurydice” with the addition of stage lights, stairs and a balcony. It also sports a new color.
The Greek mythology play by Sarah Ruhl retells the myth of Orpheus from the perspective of Eurydice, his wife. The story focuses on Eurydice's choice to return to earth with Orpheus or to stay in the underworld with her father.
Preview performances will be held on Wednesday, April 21 and Thursday, April 22. The production will run April 23-25 and April 28 through May 1. Showtime is 7 p.m. each night.
The outside theatre experience will follow CDC guidelines, so masks are required for attendance. Chairs or blankets are suggested for seating.
