Theatre Íæż½ã½ã in the School of the Arts will open the 2022-23 season on Sept. 23 with Becky Mode’s comedy “Fully Committed.â€
The one-act production, directed by Íæż½ã½ã graduate student Bill Ware, follows a day in the life of Sam Peliczowski, an out-of-work actor who mans the red-hot reservation line at Manhattan’s number-one restaurant. A cast of desperate callers, armed with coercion, threats, bribes and histrionics, will stop at nothing in their zeal to land a prime reservation or the right table.
Amid the barrage of calls, Peliczowski, played by Íæż½ã½ã graduate student Andrew Stroud, must juggle his own needs, including the demands of his recently widowed dad and trying to preparing for a choice part at Lincoln Center—while contending with scheming socialites, name-dropping wannabes, fickle celebrities and egomaniacal bosses.
The performances will be held in the Lab Theater at The Performing Arts Center on Íæż½ã½ã’s campus through Oct. 1.
