The 2025 edition of the New Orleans 500, which profiles business leaders in the region, features 66 Íæż½ã½ã alumni, as well as several Íæż½ã½ã administrators. For universities without a medical school and a law school, Íæż½ã½ã has, by far, the most alumni on the list.
The list, published by Biz New Orleans magazine, profiles business leaders who are driving the greater New Orleans economy and making decisions that will shape the region’s future. The issue includes profiles and photos of “influential, involved and inspiring business leaders.â€
Inclusion in the magazine, according to Biz New Orleans magazine’s editors, is the result of staff research into every sector of the local economy to “identify executives who are innovating, creating, leading, succeeding and giving back to the community.â€
Íæż½ã½ã administrators who made the list are: Kathy Johnson, president; Darrell Kruger, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs; Randall Langston, vice president for enrollment management; and Vince Granito, interim athletic director. Rebecca Conwell, president and CEO of The Beach at Íæż½ã½ã, is also one of the New Orleans 500.
The business sectors explored include education, real estate, energy, manufacturing, maritime, technology, transportation/logistics, hospitality and tourism, finance, healthcare, public companies, nonprofits and professional services.
The Íæż½ã½ã, the institution widely credited for having built the middle-class of New Orleans, has more than 48,000 alumni who live in metro New Orleans.
